WUSLA · LEGAL

Privacy Policy

Effective: 12 September 2026

This policy explains how Wusla (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use Hams, our Android voice typing keyboard.

1. Information Hams accesses

Microphone audio. Hams requests microphone permission only to record speech after you choose to start dictation. It does not continuously record in the background.

Text in the active field. As an Android input method, Hams can receive the text context needed to insert dictated words, perform requested editing actions, and protect the active cursor position. Hams does not use this information for advertising or build a profile of you.

Local settings and totals. Hams stores your selected writing mode and aggregate usage totals, such as word counts and recording time, on your device. These totals do not include the text you dictated.

2. How we use information

We use microphone audio to transcribe your speech, insert the resulting text into the field you selected, and provide the correction actions you request. We use local settings to remember your chosen experience and local aggregate totals to show your activity inside the app.

3. On-device and cloud processing

Hams is designed to work on-device where available, including for private destinations and offline fallback. Temporary audio used for active on-device transcription is stored in the app cache and deleted after completion, cancellation, or cleanup.

If Hams offers cloud transcription or rewriting and you use that mode, the audio or text needed for that request is sent over an encrypted connection to Hams’ configured processing service and may be processed by Google Gemini. This is used only to provide the requested transcription or rewrite. Do not use cloud mode for information you do not want processed by those providers.

4. Retention and deletion

Hams does not create user accounts and does not operate an advertising profile. Temporary recordings are normally deleted when processing finishes, when you cancel, or when the app cleans its cache. If a transcription cannot be completed, Hams may temporarily keep that recording on your device so you can choose to retry it; it is deleted when you retry, start a new recording, or the app is closed and cleans temporary files.

You can clear Hams’ local settings and cached files through Android’s app settings by choosing Clear storage or Clear cache, as applicable.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your information. We share audio or text only with service providers necessary to deliver a cloud feature you choose to use, as described above. Hams does not include third-party advertising SDKs.

6. Security

Hams uses Android’s app sandbox for local data and HTTPS for cloud requests. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, but we use reasonable technical measures appropriate to the feature.

7. Children

Hams is not directed to children under the age where parental consent is required in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Hams, contact us so we can review the issue.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Hams evolves. We will publish the new version on this page and update the effective date.
